Current favorite drugstore foundations

There was a time last year or the year before perhaps, where I was in a search for a great foundation. I wanted dewy skin and matt skin and basically perfection. I had a thing for foundations, what they call these days looking for the holy grail of foundations. I mean ridiculous really. Perhaps I just wanted my twenty-something skin back. Most likely.  In any case, I wasn’t satisfied with my usual foundation which I used over the years (I used to always use only one foundation, high end names because according to my mum high end was a must when it came to foundation).

But I noticed drugstore seemed to have a lot of variety as well. In Germany and Austria we have DM which is an amazing drugstore that you want to visit on a daily basis. Just joking. But honestly a great drugstore. Bipa is another top one which is Austrian. In any case after following many reviews and reading upon this or that foundation, I discovered, tried and tested some on my own. After all not everyone likes the same thing, do they? And not everyone suits same things.

I used to be crazy about high end Estee Lauder foundations, sometimes Lancome, occasionally Clinique. But now I wanted to try some drugstore foundations and I was pleasantly surprised how good some of them were and how much they could keep up with their high end counterparts. They were just as good, most of them in fact. They stayed all day long and there was not that much difference. I say some of them, obviously not all of them were great!

The three foundation which I will talk about today are: 1. Loreal Indefectible 24-Matt, 2. Manhattan Endless Perfection Make up 24 hours, 3. Catrice HD Liquid Coverage.

All three of these I use on a regular basis and all of them  in my opinion are really worthwhile, solid, perfecting foundations. To start with I should mention I have combination skin. I generally speaking have a good skin, not prone to acne or outbreaks.

Loreal Indefectible has a thicker consistency but glides on the skin creating a truly matt-finish. There is no cakey effect but entirely gorgeous smooth finish. It promises like many foundations these days, to stay on 24 hours but I can vouch for that it stays full 12 hours without a need to retouch. I have worn this foundation to weddings, to an evening out and on a daily basis and it is a real thing!

Catrice HD Liquid Foundation promises high but natural-looking coverage and once again 24 hour duration. All I can say is this foundation is amazing. It feels light on skin but it gives full coverage, it is very natural looking and your complexion looks amazing. Highly recommendable! I love this foundation and the price is amazing too especially for what it does, if not better as some expensive high-end foundations.

Manhattan Endless Perfection foundation is another excellent foundation which I use often. It is once again light on skin, you don’t feel like your skin is covered up and it looks fresh and flawless. It promises that it is skin-perfecting and full coverage and it delivers upon its promise. It is an oil free formula and it withstands heat and sweat.

So these are some of my trusted favorites which seems to make me look alive and fresh even on those days when I might be feeling otherwise!

Hope you enjoyed this little review and let me know if you have any additional questions about them!

  2. Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about making my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? With thanks|

You need to do some research and take it slowly from there. Find the right hosting provider and if you like you can always check out managed hosting. They do the technical parts for you so you can focus on your creative content. 😊
