Evening Skincare Routine

Evening and morning facial skin-care routine has always been important to me. I think it is crucial to take care of our skin be it in summer or winter months, whether when young or when facing more anti-aging skin requirements. 

My current evening routine varies from time to time but overall it has to nourish my skin. I test new products but also stick with those which I find good and which I can see over time fill their purpose.

The first thing at the end of the day which I do is wash my face with a cleanser. It doesn’t really matter which one but I prefer one that is more suited for sensitive skin. After this I use a cotton pad and add my trusted and tried Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Gel! This stuff is honestly good and very hydrating for any skin, be it oily or combination or dry. I use it both in winter and summer months and I do see a big difference! Following this treatment, I started since two weeks ago, adding facial oil. I have read that this helps keep skin moisture stay at better levels and especially in winter when skin is more prone to dry out due to heating inside and cold temperatures outside.

The facial oil that I have started using is CV Dry Oil. This facial oil provides smooth radiant skin and fuses immediately with the skin so you don’t feel that sticky after effect which is common with oils. It is suitable for combination skin which is what I have. It is also excellent for dry skin. It has amaranth ingredient that provides intensive regeneration. Not only that it has argan oil and carrot oil, rose hip oil and avocado oil, all of which are rich in vitamins and nutrients! You don’t always find oils that have all these good stuff combined together. They refine the pores and improve the elasticity which is excellent for mature skin, anyone over 35 should only benefit from using such oils. Anyone under 35 clearly as well. I should also mention that it has Vitamin E and F which protect against premature skin aging.

The second step for me (or I should say third step after the cleanser) is using a good night moisturizer. I am just about to finish using Lavera Re-energizing Sleeping cream. This cream is gluten free and vegan, soothes and hydrates skin, fights signs of tiredness and smells actually quite pleasant. I also use Lavera Illuminating Eye cream. Both are very good and not hard on your skin.

If I am not using Lavera Re-energizing Sleeping cream, then I use my more recent addition which is  Derma-E Anti-Wrinkle renewal cream. This one has amazing ratings and so I had to give it a go. It is supposed to diminish fine-lines and wrinkles, enhance surface cellular renewal and most importantly it contains well-known Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate), skin calming Allantoin and Panthenol. It is also vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, mineral oil-free and basically amazing because it is natural based.

I believe it is personally better to use more natural based products on our skin then something that looks good in packaging, smells divine but actually delivers absolutely nothing in terms of skin care.

The last product which I will mention is Nivea. They have a really excellent range of Q10 skin care products. Q10 is a co-enzyme found in all cells throughout the body and helps the skin produce the energy it needs to function properly. However as we age we lose the quantity of Q10 leaving the skin more prone to stress and damage. The Nivea Q10 which I use is Anti-Aging Energy Recharge which also has Vitamin C. It fights first signs of aging and revitalizes tired skin. In others words suits all skin types whether young or mature.
